This page answers many of the frequently asked questions regarding SConnect.

 

Installing / Updating SConnect

This page describes how to install SConnect.

Chrome

Note. SConnect Enabler is a small executable that is introduced to help restoring the SConnect extension install experience on Chrome.

Step 1. Accept Terms and Conditions

When accessing a page that uses SConnect and installation / update is required, you will be presented with Terms and Conditions dialog.

Click Accept and Install or Accept and Update.

Step 2. Execute Enabler

After the Terms and Conditions are accepted, a dialog will appear at the bottom of the page informing you about the Enabler download status.

Wait until the download is complete. Once completed, click it to trigger the execution.

Once triggered, a dialog will appear in the middle of the page asking for your confirmation to execute.

Verify that the Enabler is signed by Gemalto, Inc., then click Run to proceed with the execution. Once completed,

a dialog will appear in the middle of the page requesting for Chrome restart in order to complete the procedure.

Click OK and Chrome will be automatically restarted and restored.

Step 3. Install Extension

When returning to the page after restart, a dialog will appear at the bottom of the page asking for your permission to download the extension.

Click Continue to proceed with the download.

Wait until the download is complete. Once completed, a dialog will appear in the middle of the page asking for your confirmation to install the extension.

Click Add to confirm and proceed with the installation.

Step 4. Installation Complete

After the extension is added, a notification will appear at the top right of the page informing you that the installation was successful.

The page will then automatically reload and you can begin using SConnect.

Firefox

Step 1. Accept Terms and Conditions

When accessing a page that uses SConnect and installation / update is required, you will be presented with Terms and Conditions dialog.

Click Accept and Install or Accept and Update.

Step 2. Download the Extension

After the Terms and Conditions are accepted, a dialog will appear at the top of the page informing you about the extension download status.

Step 3. Install Extension

Confirm that you want to install SConnect by clicking Install Now.

Note: Verify that the extension is signed by Gemalto, Inc.

Step 4. Installation Complete

Once the extension is added, a notification will appear informing you that the installation will be completed after a browser restart.

Restart the browser by clicking Restart Now to begin using SConnect.

Internet Explorer

Step 1. Accept Terms and Conditions

When accessing a page that uses SConnect and installation / update is required, you will be presented with Terms and Conditions dialog.

Click Accept and Install or Accept and Update.

Step 2. Download and Install the Extension

After the Terms and Conditions are accepted, a dialog will appear at the bottom of the page informing you that you are about to download and install an extension.

Click Run.

Step 3. Installation Complete

For a new installation, the page will automatically reload and you can begin using SConnect.

For an update from a previous version, the following message will appear.

Restart the browser to begin using SConnect.

Note: For new installation, the SConnect Settings menu item will be available only after a browser restart.


Note: For update, when using IE9 on Windows 7, simply reopen the page in a new tab or window to begin using SConnect.


Safari

Step 1. Accept Terms and Conditions

When accessing a page that uses SConnect and installation / update is required, you will be presented with Terms and Conditions dialog.

Click Accept and Install or Accept and Update.

Step 2. Download the Extension

After the Terms and Conditions are accepted, a dialog will appear with the downloaded package.

Double-click the package to begin the installation.

Step 3. Install Extension

Note: Verify that the extension is signed by Gemalto, Inc. by clicking the icon at the top right corner.


Click Continue.

Click Install.

Input administrator credential, then click Install Software.

Step 4. Installation Complete

Click Close and restart the browser to begin using SConnect.

Uninstalling SConnect

This page describes how to uninstall SConnect.

Chrome

Step 1. Navigate to Extensions

Open the Extensions page by clicking on the wrench at the right of the address bar, then navigating to Tools, and clicking Extensions,

or by directly navigating the page to chrome://extensions/ from the address bar.

Step 2. Remove Extension

Find and select the SConnect extension, then click the trash can.

Step 3. Confirm Removal

Confirm that you want to remove the extension by clicking Remove.

Step 4. Removal Complete

Once the removal is complete, the SConnect extension will no longer be in the list.

Firefox

Step 1. Navigate to Add-ons

No Menu Bar

If the Menu Bar is not present, click the Firefox button at the top left of the window, then click Add-ons.

Menu Bar

If the Menu Bar is present, click Tools, then Add-ons.

Step 2. Remove Extension

Find and select the SConnect extension, then click Remove.

Step 3. Confirm Removal

Confirm that you want to remove the extension by clicking Restart now.

Step 4. Removal Complete

Once the removal is complete, the SConnect extension will no longer be in the list.

Internet Explorer

Step 1. Navigate to Programs and Features

Open Programs and Features by going to the Windows Control Panel, finding the Programs section, and selecting Uninstall a program.

Step 2. Remove Extension

Find and select the SConnect IE extension, then click Uninstall.

Step 3. Confirm Removal

Confirm that you want to remove the extension by clicking Yes.

Step 4. Removal Complete

Once the removal is complete, the SConnect extension will no longer be in the list.

Safari

Step 1. Navigate to Applications

Open Applications by going to Finder, clicking Go, then Applications

Step 2. Remove Extension

Find and double-click SConnect Uninstaller.

Step 3. Removal Complete

Once the removal is complete, the SConnect extension will no longer be in the list.

SConnect Settings

This page describes how to modify SConnect settings.

Chrome

Step 1. Navigate to SConnect Settings

Open the Extensions page by clicking on the wrench at the right of the address bar, then navigating to Tools, and clicking Extensions,

or by directly navigating the page to chrome://extensions/ from the address bar.

Find the SConnect extension and click Options.

Step 2. Settings Dialog

The settings dialog is used to display and manage stored information regarding which sites are permanently allowed and denied to use SConnect.

Remove Allowed Site

This will remove sites stored in the list of allowed sites.

Click Remove on the items you wish to delete, then click Save.

Remove Denied Site

This will remove sites stored in the list of denied sites.

Click Remove on the items you wish to delete, then click Save.

Note: You will need to reload the page for the changes to take effect.

Permission Request

This is the permission request dialog. It allows you to temporarily or permanently allow / deny sites access to the SConnect.

Permanently Allow

This will permanently allow SConnect access for the site and add it to the Allowed Sites list in the settings dialog.

Permanently Deny

This will permanently deny SConnect access for the site add it to the Denied Sites list in the settings dialog.

Temporarily Allow

This will temporarily allow SConnect access for the site until the page is reloaded.

Temporarily Deny

This will temporarily deny SConnect access for the site until the page is reloaded.

Permission Denied

This is the permission denied dialog.

This occurs when the user does not allow the site to access the SConnect.

If this occurs without a prompt, check the Denied Sites list in the settings dialog.

Error Dialogs

This page describes the error messages may appear while using SConnect.

SSL Certificate

This error occurs when there is no valid SSL connection to the server.

Credentials

No Connection Key

This error occurs when there is no connection key found on the server.

Invalid Connection Key

This error occurs when the connection key is found on the server, but invalid.

Proxy Server

This error occurs when SConnect is unable to authenticate to the proxy server.

Note: only Basic and NTLM proxy authentication schemes are supported.

Internal Error

This error occurs when there is an internal error within the SConnect.

Note: e.g. occurred in Firefox when PCSC module is not available.

Timeout

This is the timeout dialog. It occurs when the installation procedure is not completed within the specified timeframe.

Please reload the page to begin the installation again. For instructions, check the install page.

ActiveX Filtering

This is the ActiveX Filtering dialog.

This occurs when ActiveX Filtering is enabled in Internet Explorer. This will prevent the SConnect extension from working.

To disable this feature, perform the following steps:

No Menu Bar

If the Menu bar is not present, enable it by right-clicking above the address bar and clicking Menu bar.

Menu Bar

If the Menu Bar is present, click Tools, then uncheck ActiveX Filtering to disable the feature.

Reload the page to begin using SConnect.
