Ezio Web Connector (EWC) is a product that enables a web browser, on the end users PC, to communicate with a connectible Gemalto card device. A JavaScript API and a browser plug-in lets the browser send high level requests to smart cards inserted in the device. The connectible functions in the card device that is available though this product is for instance CAP Token generation and SWYS signing, depending on the functionality of the specific card device. All of the low level communication (APDU) to the card device and the smart card is taken care of inside this product. A customer that develops a web site that needs to utilize the connectible functionality of a card device only needs to understand the high level concepts.
